Dear Family and Friends,
Today is the last day of 2005. Bob just took Jenny (our dog) and
Arianna for their daily morning walk in the woods. Today must be a
special one since the ground is covered with snow that fell last night.
I do envy them a bit because I haven't been for a walk (on my own) for a
long time. I'm still very focused on doing that next year, and I'm
conviced that I will.
I had my first check up by my radiologist last week. He was very
surprised to see my improvements using my left leg and not all my hair
falling out. He checked my head several times (3), pulling my hair,
going back to his 'charts' of my brain and shaking his head and saying
"It's unbelievable! From some 750 patients I've treated during these
many years, pehaps 3 or 4 have not had ALL their hair fall off." He was
also surprised that I was not vey exhausted or sick with any other
negative side effects. Fortunatelly, Marcia was with me so she also
heard what he said. Had it been only Bob and me, I'm sure she would
have thought of us as some 'new ager' were just making this stuff up.
I'm not out of the woods yet becouse the effecs of the radiation can
appear up to 12 weeks after the treatment stops. I'm tappering off my
anti-imflamation medicine (dexamateson) during the next 3 weeks until
I'm down to 0. This will be very important to find out if the tumor
really got stopped from growing. In any case, the doctor told me to
make the next appointment with him in *_6_ *months from now. June 20,
2006 will be the date.
This is the very best Chrismas present we got and it convinced me of
everything I believe in. Miracles do happen everyday. I'm very exited
to start the New Year and know a lot of good stuff is going to happen.
Also to know all the love and support I'm getting from you (this was
another good thing of 2005) into the next year! We are very optimistic
and trust that 2006 will bring us a lot of health and happiness together
with our children, family and friends.
We will keep sending you our 'updates'. We also love to hear from you
so keep sending your messages.
Lots of love to you all!
Margreet
